PEFC logo

The PEFC logo is confirmation of certification.

PEFC product labels tell the consumer that forest based raw material in those products originated in sustainably managed forests.

PEFC certification can be recognized from the PEFC logo placed on the product, its packaging or to documents concerning the product. The producing company – a printing house, for example – is only entitled to use the logo after the activities of the company are certified with a chain of custody. This ensures that the company must abide by the logo use rules and cannot sell more PEFC certified products than the share of PEFC certified raw material allows them to.

Organizations promoting forestry or advisory bodies, may also be entitled to use the PEFC logo in connection to their communication and promotion of sustainable forestry.

In Finland, the licenses to use PEFC label are granted by the PEFC Finland.
